Aloy fans can rejoice, it is confirmed that a sequel is in development at Guerrilla. The announcement came via a blog post on the developer's website with the primary news concerning the promotion of the studio's director.
Guerrilla studio director and executive producer Angie Smets is moving upwards as she starts a new role as head of development strategy at PlayStation Studios. But for those who are loving the Horizon series, the more resonant news is that Guerrilla confirmed that it is "expanding the world of Horizon with Aloy's next adventure".

While the words may not say that this next adventure is a sequel to Horizon Forbidden West, it should be clear enough that Sony PlayStation would want a sequel to the game considering it is one of the most popular triple-A titles on the platform. Sales numbers and critical reception has been positive towards the series with the most recent addition, the Burning Shores DLC, being well received.
As a triple-A title and with impressive visuals, the Horizon series has been marketed as a system seller by Sony with Aloy and the world of Horizon often deploying in commercials and marketing. In addition to "Aloy's next adventure", Guerrilla's blog post also mentioned its "exciting online project". This is in reference to a Horizon online multiplayer game that has been known to be in development since the end of 2022.
While Guerrilla has yet to fully take the wraps off that project, Horizon fans can feel relieved that more Aloy will be coming and is in development.
