Albion Online, the medieval fantasy MMORPG by Sandbox Interactive, is dropping its next big update Rogue Frontier. It’s on February 3rd to be exact, almost a month from now. But we already have all the details of what’s in store in the year’s first big update.
The Rogue Frontier update in Albion Online centres around The Smugglers. They are a ragtag bunch of rebels who’ve had enough of the Royal Continent’s strict rules and are now staking their claim in the lawless Outlands.
So, they’ve set up shop in secret underground hideouts called Smuggler’s Dens. These dens are your go-to hubs for banking, repairs and planning your next expedition. Each den is part of the Smuggler’s Network, a clever system that links marketplaces across the Outlands.
The Smugglers have a Faction of their own, and they’re in constant battle with the Royal Guards. You can lend them a hand in all sorts of ways. Like rescue captured Smugglers from the clutches of their enemies or deliver contraband hidden in Smuggler Crates.
Maggy Slade, a shady trader hanging out in the dens, will reward you in lieu of your loyalty. There is a Smuggler’s Vanity Set, a Smuggler’s Cape with an ability that cuts down potion cooldowns and a Smuggler’s Ring and Avatar up for grabs.
Kill Trophies are a new addition to Albion Online, courtesy of the Rogue Frontier update. They drop when you take down another player. The better the loot on your defeated foe, the higher your chances of snagging one.
Rogue Frontier also brings some new stylish weapons to Albion Online. The Rotcaller Staff lets you summon a creepy mist-spewing form that pushes enemies away. The Skystrider Bow lets you levitate and rain bolts from above. And the Forcepulse Bracers send shockwaves through your opponents as you dash in for the attack.
So, check out Albion Online from the Google Play Store and gear up for the massive update on February 3rd.
