Gran Turismo 7 allegedly had a PC port in the works, though it was shelved at some unknown point. If that wasn’t bad enough, Icon-Era founder Bryank75 also revealed that the Demon’s Souls remake won’t be ported to PC or “any other platform.”
Leaked via the forum’s members and admin, who “have it on good authority,” this could mean it never launches for PC, at least not in this generation. Could this mean Sony backing off on porting its titles to the PC market? Not quite. Bryank75 responded that PC plans still exist, but “some of them suck ass.” Make of that what you will, but you shouldn’t expect Bluepoint’s remake anytime soon.
Sony’s success with its first-party PC ports has been mixed lately. Helldivers 2 and Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut proved successful, but Returnal, LEGO Horizon Adventures, and Concord were disappointing. Even Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 debuted to less than 19K players on Steam, though it’s since reached 27,775 concurrent. It removed the mandatory PSN requirement for many titles, at least.
The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is the next first-party PlayStation title for PC, launching on April 3rd. Stay tuned for updates in the coming months.
