Remember when Polyphony Digital head Kazunori Yamauchi said the studio was considering a PC port of Gran Turismo 7? With no updates for over two years, you would think it’s not happening. Unfortunately, a recent rumor lends further credence to the same.
Icon-Era founder Bryank75 recently posted that a PC version of the acclaimed racing sim was in the works at some point, but it’s since been shelved. He noted that the information came from a “trusted member” and “through the admin of the forum” (which had previously leaked footage from Returnal’s PC version).
As for why it was shelved, we may never know. Gran Turismo 7 is available for PS4 and PS5, and despite the lack of sales figures, it ranked first in the series in dollar sales for the US, according to Circana. It also continues to receive support – update 1.55 went live on January 29th, adding four new cars, a new Extra Menu in GT Cafe, and three World Circuit events. Head here for more details.
