Gran Turismo 7 Ranks 1st in Dollar Sales for the Series in US, per Circana
Polyphony Digital’s Gran Turismo 7 is almost three years old and still going strong with new content and even a free trial, My First Gran Turismo. Sony has been coy on sails numbers since release, but we now have somewhat of an estimate for its success.
Circana’s December 2024 sales data for the US recently revealedGran Turismo 7 ranked ninth in the PlayStation top ten best-selling charts, up from 20th. When asked if it has outsold Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec (which hit 14.89 million sales as of 2008), executive director and analyst Matt Piscatella said, “Gran Turismo 7 now ranks 1st in dollars and 5th in units among all Gran Turismo franchise releases.”
The high dollar sales could be attributed to the title’s $70 price point on PS5, though the PS4-only version costs $60. While actual sales figures have yet to be revealed, Sony and Polyphony Digital confirmed in December 2022 that the franchise had crossed 90 million units sold.
