Fans are about to see how Dark Horse's number one paranormal investigator, Hellboy, became the man he is today with a new miniseries that will shine a light on his more precocious years. Dark Horse has announced Young Hellboy: Assault on Castle Death, a miniseries that will explore the titular character's early years after arriving on Earth. The book is a chance for Hellboy fans to see a mostly unseen point in his history, and find out how his formative years affected the notorious B.P.R.D agent.
When it comes to superhero origins, Hellboy arguably has one of the most intense. Born as Anung Un Rama to Azzael, the Archduke of Hell, and Sarah Hughes, a human witch, the young half-demon lived in Hell before he was brought to Earth. Summoned by Rasputin near the end of World War II, the creature was taken in by Allied forces and adopted by Professor Trevor Bruttenholm, Director of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense. Thanks to his demon lineage, it wasn't long before Hellboy grew into a full-fledged adult. But that doesn't mean there weren't some awkward years for the future demon slayer

Dark Horse is about to give fans a glimpse of Hellboy's young adventures with a four-issue miniseries, Young Hellboy: Assault on Castle Death. The four issue series comes from series creator Mike Mignola, as well as Thomas Sniegoski, Craig Rousseau, and Chris O'Halloran.
