If your favourite app on your Android phone has been on it for years and hasn’t seen any updates, you could be losing them soon.

Google is taking an action on abandoned apps on the Play Store as it wants to hide legacy apps that haven’t been updated in nearly two years.

The total numbers of these apps amount to 869,000 on the Play Store, all of which could be hidden from the customers, thereby preventing consumers from downloading them further, or getting updates.

There is an exception to this though. In fact, Apple is also doing the same for the dated apps on the App Store. Based on a report from CNET, Google will hide these apps on the app store.
