Supergiant Games announced during last year's Game Awards, revealing that the game will be releasing in early access before a full launch just like its predecessor, and to expect more details in 2023. We've had pretty much nothing radio silence since then, but SuperGiant has finally lifted the lid on Hades 2 and revealed thyat the game will be launching in early access ast some point next summer.
In a blog post on the Supergiant Games website, the team behind Hades 2 explains why its deciding to go with early access yet again despite the original Hades being a mssive hit. Supergiant says that early access was "vitally important to the entire idea behind the original Hades" and that the early access period for the second game wil be "no less important this time".

If you're one of many itching to get your hands on Hades 2 as early as possible, you'll be pleased to know that Supergiant will also be holding a technical test before launching the game in early access that will only be available to a select group of players. Usually, these kinds of things are signed up for ahead of time and a random bunch of people are selected, but Supergiant says that it will share more details about the technical test closer to when its ready.
As for when the game's official release date out of early access, even Supergiant isn't fully clear on when that will be, which is understandable given the unexpected nature of game development. Instead, Supergiant says it will continue to "keep building core content" as much as possible, and that the game will receive constant updates during the early access period which will continue the story and deepen the relationship between characters.
