The franchise may have moved beyond its Greek origins but a new rumor claims Kratos' original adventures may soon receive a fresh coat of paint. While modern audiences are likely more familiar with Kratos as the bearded warrior of Norse legend thanks to 2018's and its 2022 sequel, the wrathful deity started life in a different world. Its combat may not be as refined as the recent duology but the so-called Greek Trilogy still has plenty of fans.
Over on Reddit, user Feeling-Examination6 noted that they've heard whispers of a remastered collection of games that will arrive "."
Many have taken this to mean that Sony is looking to bring the older games to modern hardware with upgraded visuals and control schemes. It's worth noting that Feeling-Examination6 has recently correctly predicted two major announcements in the form of the reveal and the release date of the upcoming action-adventure game .
As is the case with all rumors, fans should take this report with a grain of salt until PlayStation officially announces it. Further rumors claim that Sony is planning to host a State of Play event in the near future, possibly as soon as February 14. Whether or not the showcase does take form remains to be seen but given PlayStation's fairly quiet release schedule, it's easy to see the company falling back on older titles to pad out its 2025 slate.
The original PlayStation 2 games have already received the remaster treatment as the first title from 2005 and its 2007 sequel were both brought over to the PlayStation 3 in a bundle package that sported enhanced visuals. Similarly, was also remastered for PlayStation 4. Fans are likely hoping the rumored remastered collection also includes the beloved PSP games and , and the often-forgotten which is still only officially available on the PS3.
