Warning: spoilers ahead for Knights of X #3 and X-Men #12!
Just as Rogue is ending her X-Men tenure in favor of new adventures, her husband and fellow mutant hero Gambit has been murdered in Otherworld. This wouldn't be a problem had Remy been killed anywhere else, but Otherworld's mystic nature is the one exception to the X-Men's ability to resurrect fallen heroes. And when Rogue finds out that Remy is dead, fans are likely to see her powers unleashed like never before.
X-Men #12 from Gerry Duggan, Pepe Larraz, Marte Gracia, and Clayton Cowles serves as a final issue for the first iteration of the Krakoan X-Men squad. Among the heroes set to depart the team is Rogue. Specifically, Rogue declares, «Right now, my destiny lies elsewhere. Irene's in a fit, saying that only I can prevent 'mutants walking through a gate and never returning' or some nonsense.» Knights of X #3,by Tini Howard, Bob Quinn, Erick Arciniega, and Ariana Maher, was released the very same week. In it, Gambit sacrifices his life before his entire team while fighting off Merlyn. Gambit did use Saturnyne's Death tarot card, so there may be some magical mischief at work. As it stands though, Gambit has died in Otherworld, meaning he can no longer be brought back.

Given the likelihood that Destiny's prophecy refers to the teleportation gate to Otherworld, it's reasonable for fans to expect Rogue to soon get involved with the Knights of X, who evolved out of her former Excalibur team. Merlyn, Morgana, and anyone else in Otherworld that stands to gain from Gambit's death ought to watch their backs for Anna Marie. Her mutant power to copy and intermingle other's powers combined
