The Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus are rumored to get a slight design change after several years, hinting that Samsung has finally realized its potential if it worked towards altering the exterior. According to one tipster, the narrow bezels will match those of the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The tipster Ice Universe did not mention the exact measurement details, but he does state on the Chinese micro-blogging website Weibo that both the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus will sport slimmer bezels like Apple’s upcoming flagship models. It was previously reported that both the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will take the crown for having razor-thin bezels, measuring 1.55mm, beating the Xiaomi 13 Pro, which features bezels measuring just 1.81mm.
Going by these figures, we can assume that the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus will tout the same displays, if not better. Apple has also been reported to switch to LIPO technology, or ‘low-injection pressure over-molding’ to achieve those slimmer bezels, but it is not confirmed if Samsung intends to take advantage of the same technology.
Surprisingly, the tipster has not stated if the Galaxy S24 Ultra will ship with the same OLED panels, but given that Samsung usually gives priority to its top-tier flagship, it is unlikely that this particular model will be left out of the treatment. After all, we did learn over the weekend that Samsung’s most premium flagship offering for 2024 is rumored to feature a titanium chassis, getting rid of the aluminum build once and for all.
