Divergent alum Theo James has found his next action project in the form of the heist thriller movie titled, .
According to Variety, James has signed on to star opposite previously announced lead Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Further details about their characters remained under wraps. Production on Fuze is expected to begin in early July.
James recently starred in Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen series for Netflix, which has yet to receive a renewal announcement. He also recently lent his voice to Marvel villain Bastion on X-Men ’97 Season 1. Besides Fuze, he will next be seen in the supernatural horror film The Monkey, based on Stephen King’s short story of the same name.
Fuze will be directed by David Mackenzie from a screenplay written by Ben Hopkins. The story begins with “the discovery of an unexploded World War II bomb in a London construction site, sparking a mass evacuation – the perfect cover for a heist,” reads the synopsis. The film is produced by Gillian Berrie, Sebastien Raybaud, and Callum Grant, with Giles Nuttgens set as the cinematographer. It is a production by Anton.
This marks Taylor-Johnson’s second collaboration with Mackenzie, after previously working together in 2018’s historical drama Outlaw King. Before Fuze, the Kick-Ass star was most recently seen in David Leitch’s action comedy The Fall Guy. He’s currently attached to several high-profile projects, including Kraven the Hunter, Nosferatu, and 28 Years Later.
