Players have experienced a glitch in Fortnite that makes it possible for them to customize forged cosmetics, giving the community hope that they might be able to access all additional customizations in the future. Over the years, players have unlocked hundreds of cosmetics with the Fortnite Battle Pass, and oftentimes, these items have offered alternative style options so that fans are able to customize them according to their liking.
Players could choose the style of most of the skins in the Chapter 2 Season 2 Battle Pass. This pass allowed gamers to unlock Midas, Brutus, TNTina, Meowscles, Gear Specialist Maya, Skye, and Deadpool. Back then, fans who purchased the Battle Pass and unlocked these skins could choose which team their skin would belong to: Ghost or Shadow. This decision would grant the skin an additional selectable style, and they wouldn't be able to change their minds in the future.
On top of the Ghost and Shadow customization options, players could make their own Gear Specialist Maya by selecting a style for each customization category. They would unlock more style options by completing challenges, and then they had to choose their favorite option for each Maya part; there were 10 categories and 58 different customization options in total, making it possible to create millions of combinations. When players chose an option for one of the categories, this would be permanently forged to the skin — they would never be able to change it. However, a recent bug made it possible for players to select styles that they had unlocked before choosing the part that they would forge, leading many gamers to believe that Epic Games will make it possible to customize Maya at a later date.
Gear Specialist Maya isn't the only cosmetic that was affected by this Fortnite glitch. Players who own the Brella glider, another forged cosmetic item, were also able to select other customization options that they had obtained before forging it. At first, players believed that Epic
