Xbox Selling Retailer-Exclusive SpongeBob-Themed Series X Console
To celebrate SpongeBob SquarePants and all things Nickelodeon, Paramount Game Studios and GameMill are releasing anXbox Series X collaboration project through Best Buy Drops. The Xbox Series XNickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 Special Edition Bundle includes a themed console and digital download of the Nickelodeon brawler.
The exclusive bundle will only be available to purchase through the Best Buy app via Best Buy Drops. This is not long after reports that they may stop selling physical media in stores were published. For now, no floor date has been announced to bring these consoles to Best Buy stores. Best Buy Drops, introduced in 2023, is a separate program within the Best Buy mobile application. Unlike other daily deals in gaming and other electronics, this one will be exclusively through the program. Similar to Prime Day Deals and Walmart+, this option offers mobile users first opportunities to buy exclusive products. But they will have to act fast, as these consoles are expected to be in high demand, and will be available in limited quantities.
The drop will occur on March 7 at 8 AM PST, and the bundle will retail for $699. Included will be an Xbox Series X 1TB console, skinned with SpongeBob's waving, smiling face. The wireless controller that comes with it is also decked out with a collage of characters from the cartoon. In addition, the game Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, which features a growing roster of familiar Nickelodeon characters, is pre-downloaded to the console. The console and controller both sport the title art for the included game as well. Players can plug in and start playing right away, either locally or online.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 is a multiplayer brawler similar to Super Smash Bros. Players can play as Nickelodeon favorites such as SpongeBob, Reptar, Danny Phantom, and even Aang.
