Epic Games is reportedly working on a massive update that is going to redefine the gameplay experience of Fortnite's popular LEGO mode. While a pretty barebones way of creating worlds does exist inLEGO Fortnite, that portion of the mode seems to be getting an overhaul.
Fortnite's LEGO mode has quickly become one of the most popular aspects of the game. In fact, at one point there were more players playing the LEGO than the original battle royale, which is impressive even though it did not last long. Epic Games has been actively releasing updates for the mode, with the most recent one adding an all-new fishing mechanic to LEGO Fortnite. While that added a completely new dynamic to the game, it seems like Epic Games has some more exciting stuff in store for fans.
As per a new report by popular Fortnite leaker HYPEX, Epic Games is apparently gearing up to release a huge LEGO x UEFN (Unreal Editor for Fortnite) update. Named Atom, this update will be bringing new LEGO sets including but not limited to Action Figures, Duplo, and Technic. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the leak is that players may soon be allowed to build custom LEGO worlds in Fortnite using existing pieces and imported custom ones.
The leaker also suggests that the player will initially start with different variants of knobs, pins, and tubes, and they will be able to use their favorite LEGOFortnite skins in this mode. Last but not least, fans who are looking to build worlds for the community can also expect to get something out of it, as these maps can monetized as well. However, it has been noted that there will be certain terms and conditions associated with publishing these maps, although the specifics haven't been revealed yet.
