Many DC fans were dismayed when the publisher seemingly attempted to replace The Flash'sWally West with a younger character of the same name, only to reveal they were different people who would now co-exist as speedster superheroes. However, as Wally and Wallace actually spend some time together, The Flash is proving that they're actually an amazing team with fun chemistry worth exploring further.
Originally Kid Flash, Wally West inherited the title of Flash when Barry Allen died as a part of the massive crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths. Wally had always been a fan favorite, but when DC decided to reboot its entire universe with The New 52, Wally was written out of reality as if he never existed in the first place. Instead, a new, younger Wallace West was introduced in his stead. Fans were critical of the decision, and when DC entered its Rebirth phase, Barry Allen managed to pull the old version of Wally back into existence. Things were confusing at first as there were two different Wally Wests existing with similar powers, but the second iteration eventually found his own place alongside the Teen Titans.

However, with Barry Allen's adventure out into the multiverse, Wally West is DC's main Flash once again, and Flash #781 — from Jeremy Adams and Fernando Pasarin — sees him bonding with Wallace West's Kid Flash on a high-speed day of adventures.
