The trailer for The Flash season 8, episode 16, shows Grant Gustin's Barry Allen starting to age rapidly. Since its return in 2022, The Flash season 8 has been one of the show's darkest years since season 3. For their latest big bad, Team Flash went up against the villainous Deathstorm, a more comic-accurate interpretation compared to the Earth-2 counterpart in season 2. While the heroes were able to stop the interdimensional demon, it came at a cost, with Killer Frost sacrificing herself by becoming the «Anti-Deathstorm.»
Following Deathstorm's defeat, The Flash season 8 is currently heading into one of its remaining significant storylines, which involves Iris West-Allen. Since The Flash season 7, Iris has been suffering from a mysterious time-sickness that has factored into the latest season in bits and pieces. However, after episode 14, «Funeral for a Friend,» Iris has now completely vanished, with the latest episode, «Into the Still Force,» beginning the search for The Central City Citizen editor-in-chief. While Barry will be trying to track down his wife, the next episode of The Flash season 8 will also give the hero a whole new problem to deal with next week.

Following the airing of «Into the Still Force,» The CW released an official trailer for episode 16 of The Flash season 8, titled «The Curious Case of Bartholomew Allen.» The title is an homage to the film, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which was released in 2008. The trailer shows Barry dealing with an unnamed villain that somehow seems to get Barry to rapidly age as the Scarlet Speedster starts to turn more grey. Check out the promo below.
