There are a lot of heroes in the DC Universe who could potentially outrun the Flash and become the fastest speedster alive, but a conversation with Superman reveals Barry Allen's personal thoughts on which speedster he believes has a real shot at outpacing him.
Barry is far from the only person to be blessed with super speed. In fact, he wasn't even the first person to possess such a power. But of the many people to wear the mantle of the Flash, Allen has achieved a notoriety as the «Fastest Man Alive.» He's traveled to other dimensions, other universes and all throughout time thanks to his connection to the mystical Speed Force. But as time has gone on, Barry's been joined in his superhero career by plenty of other heroes who are itching to be the one to outrun the Scarlet Speedster.

And while every dog may have their day, Barry Allen has his money on one close member of his family to outrun them all. The Flash got a chance to express his feelings to an old friend in Superman #709 by J. Michael Straczynski, Chris Roberson, Eddy Barrows, and Allan Goldman. After Superman helps Flash recover from a brief mind-control incident, the two take in a meal at a local diner where the television is tuned into a special event. A race between Superboy Conner Kent and Kid Flash Bart Allen is being covered live. While the adult heroes reflect on their own similar races in the past, Flash declares his confidence in future grandson Bart, saying that if the young hero keeps up his hard work, he could eventually become faster than his grandfather.
