Ms. Marvel episode 2, «Crushed,» introduces the character of Kamran (Rish Shah), whose origins and potential powers are rooted in the original Marvel comics. Ms. Marvel episode 2 focuses on the immediate aftermath of AvengerCon, as Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) attempts to learn more about her burgeoning superpowers. Meanwhile, the popular girl Zoe Zimmer (Laurel Marsden) is becoming a hit on social media by recounting how Kamala — who Zoe has dubbed "Nightlight" — saved her life.
As part of her celebration of life's "fragility," Zoe throws a party and invites the whole school, including the handsome and charming Kamran. He instantly bonds with Kamala, much to the disappointment of Bruno (Matt Lintz), but it quickly becomes clear that he's hiding his true intentions. As with Ms. Marvel's powers, Kamran's origins in the MCU differ from those of the original comics, but they may hint at the direction in which Kamala's story is heading.

At the climax of Ms. Marvel episode 2, Kamala's attempts to rescue a young boy at the local mosque's Eid celebrations draw the attention of the Department of Damage Control. On the run from their drones, she's rescued by Kamran, just as she was when the police broke up Zoe's party. When she gets inside the car, she's introduced to Kamran's mother, who has been dying to meet her. This cliffhanger development shares similarities with a key plot from Kamran's storyline in the Ms. Marvel comics, hinting that there will be further similarities as the MCU show continues.
