According to an executive producer, there is one Avengers: Endgame reference that wasn't allowed to be included in Ms. Marvel. The newest MCU series follows Kamala Khan, a superfan of Captain Marvel who develops her own powers after finding a bangle that bestows her with cosmic abilities. The series premiered on Disney+ on June 8 and will run its remaining 5 episodes weekly through July 13. Iman Vellani stars as Kamala, with Matt Lintz as her best friend Bruno Carrelli, Yasmeen Fletcher as her friend Nakia Bahadir, Zenobia Shroff as her mother Muneeba Khan, Mohan Kapur as her father Yusuf Khan, and Saagar Shaikh as her brother Aamir Khan.
The first episode of Ms. Marvel revealed plenty about how on-the-ground civilians interact with the superheroes who walk among them. Although people's opinions on the Avengers are obviously varied, considering the attempt to keep them from operating independently during the events of the climactic 2016 crossover film Captain America: Civil War, there is a huge fan community, large enough for Jersey City to put on their first annual AvengerCon fan event in the pilot. The episode also opens with a monologue from Khan about why she loves Captain Marvel, assembled from various doodles and scraps of evidence that include a podcast hosted by Scott Lang, also known as Ant-Man.
