“Growing Light”, Final Fantasy XIV ’s next big update, is right around the corner. Releasing on October 3rd, Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida previewed the patch in a special Letter from the Producer broadcast from Tokyo Game Show.
Patch 6.5 got a brand new trailer, as well as details on the first part of 6.5 and teases for 6.51 and 6.55. When Growing Light arrives, we’ll get new Main Scenario Quests, a new dungeon, Lunar Subterrane, a new Trial, a new Unreal Trial, Alliance Raid, job adjustments, and much more. PvP Season 5 will begin, there are new Island Sanctuary updates on the way, and more to the continued Duty Support expansion.
The new Trial, The Abyssal Fracture, features a new battle against Zeromus. It will be available in Normal and Extreme. Battle Thordan in the Singularity Reactor new Unreal Trial. Myths of the Realm #3 is the new Alliance Raid, and it sets you into “explore the mysteries of Thaleia” as you team up for this new instance.
The update is clearly a pretty packed way to begin a new chapter in FFXIV. The Duty Support system will be extended to the Drowned City of Skalla, the Burn, and Ghimlyt Dark dungeons. With this update, you’ll be able to solo all of the main scenario dungeons from A Realm Reborn all the way through Endwalker.
Island Sanctuary is getting new craftable items, new crops, and new animals. Along with these additions, expect new materials and more gathering space, isleworks handicrafts, structures, and new sanctuary ranks and visions. PvP Series 5 is coming, along with Crystalline Conflict updates for the UI and minimap.
As for what’s ahead in 6.51, that update will include a new Variant Dungeon, Aloalo Island, and Criterion Dungeon — Another Aloalo Island. A new
