Bethesda has released Fallout 4’s long-awaited next-gen update.
Originally scheduled to arrive last year, the free update includes native applications for Xbox Series X/S and PS5, Performance mode and Quality mode settings, plus stability improvements and fixes.
Players will be able to “experience up to 60 FPS and increased resolutions,” Bethesda said earlier this month.
“To download the update on a next-generation console, you must own Fallout 4 for that device.”
Updates for the PC, Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game are also available.
The PC version has received widescreen and ultra-widescreen support, Creation Kit fixes and “a variety of quest updates”.
Fallout 4 is now also Steam Deck verified, and is available to purchase on the Epic Games Store for the first time.
Patches for the last-gen consoles versions include stability improvements, login and quest fixes.
Fallout games have seen their player counts increase dramatically following the release of Amazon’s Fallout TV show earlier this month.
Fallout 76 attracted over one million players in a single day, while the whole franchise was played by almost five million people in a day, Bethesda said this week.
Amazon recently confirmed that the Fallout show will return for a second season.
