Nacon’s racing and driving game specialists KT Racing have announced Endurance Motorsport Series, a new motorsport sim that’s set for release in 2025 across PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
As you can guess from the title, Endurance Motorsport Series is all about the long-distance competitions. It’s not clear if they have the IMSA or WEC licenses to capture the preeminent championships in North America and the rest of the world, respectively, but we can still expect KT Racing to try and capture the full gamut of endurance racing, from 6 hour races at Spa, Silverstone and others, through to the jewels in the crown at Le Mans, Daytona and Sebring.
The trailer features two cars shrouded in darkness, but with the silhouettes and headlights of the Porsche 911 GT3 and Porsche 963 LMDh. That’s one of the most iconic marques in endurance racing, but we’d hope to see the full gamut of manufacturers represented, with Toyota, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Chevrolet and all the rest across the various categories of mixed races.
In the name of accessibility, EMS will certainly cater to smaller and more manageable renditions of these races, either through having shorter races than you’d see in reality, but KT Racing promise that the game will emphasise race strategy and snap decision make as you deal with racing incidents, weather and other unexpected conditions.
KT Racing is best known for their long-running series of licensed WRC games, but with that license having passed along to Codemasters in the last few years, the studio has refocussed on a new racing sim category. KT Racing is also reviving the massively open online racing series Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown.
