Rumbling of an all-digital variant of the Xbox Series X have been doing the rounds for a while now, and they’re now beginning to gather momentum. In fact, Exputer has shared what it claims are images of a white, all-digital model of the Xbox Series X.
The outlet, which leaked the existence of the console variant earlier this year, has shared relatively low-quality images showcasing a white version of the Xbox Series X that looks largely similar to the existing black model of the console, with the key differences being the colour and the lack of a slot for a disc in the front. Exputer claimed in its previous report that the new Xbox Series X model was targeting a release sometime this Summer (between June and July), and would launch for a price point $50-$100 cheaper than the current Xbox Series X model (which retails for $499). Prior to that, last year, leaked internal Microsoft documents suggested that a version of the console without a disc drive was indeed in the works.
Earlier this year, Xbox president Sarah Bond teased “exciting” hardware news for this Holiday, but did not indicate whether that would entail a new variant of the company’s current-gen hardware.
