Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is finally giving Goku Black his iconic scythe weapon as part of his Ultra Supervillain form in the upcoming Future Saga DLC.
Dragon Ball Super might occasionally get some flak for its weird pacing and its inferior handling of the Battle of Gods and Resurrection F sagas, but it also introduced some incredibly iconic characters who have become some of the most beloved in the series. Beerus, Whis, Jiren, and more stand out as obvious examples, but one of the most popular is Goku Black.
Sure, Goku Black might just look like a darker version of Goku, but that hasn't stopped him from rising as a fan -favourite across Dragon Ball media. That includes Dragon Ball games such as Xenoverse and FighterZ, although it's fair to say that his appearance in the former wasn't quite as beloved as it could have been.
One of the biggest reasons that Goku Black falls a little short in Xenoverse 2 is because he doesn't have one of his most iconic weapons as part of his special skills. The glowing pink scythe that he gets as part of his Super Saiyan Rose transformation has weirdly been missing in action ever since the character debuted in Xenoverse 2, with fans calling for him to get a new move that adds it to his moveset.
What makes Goku Black not having his scythe even worse is that he actually has an empty skill slot that isn't used by another ability. Surely that would be where the scythe shows up?
Well, it only took seven years, but Xenoverse 2 has finally addressed Goku Black's biggest flaw... kind of. Yesterday, the official Dragon Ball Games Twitter account showed off the Ultra Supervillain version of Goku Black that's coming to the game as part of the Future Saga DLC pack. Beyond giving him a new look, it also adds some new moves for the beloved villain.
