To get around in The Elder Scrolls Online: High Isle, players can use any of the 15 Wayshrines located within the Systres Archipelago. Wayshrines are fast travel points in The Elder Scrolls Online and can help players navigate ESO's massive map more easily. These points usually appear as gazebo-style structures with a brazier containing a blue flame in the center. Most of the Wayshrines in ESO's High Isle can be found at various named points of interest around the island, including in and around the main hub of Gonfalon Bay. In Elder Scrolls lore, these shrines were built to honor various Divines. The style of the building holding the flame reflects the culture of the people who constructed them.
When Elder Scrolls Online players interact with a Wayshrine, it allows their characters to fast-travel to a second Wayshrine. In ESO, Wayshrines must be discovered and visited to be added to a player's in-game map and used as a fast-travel point. Discovered Wayshrines will appear on a player's map in white with a faint green-blue glow that lets the player know that point is now active for recall or fast travel. Travel between two Wayshrines is free, but, if players want to recall their character from where they are adventuring to a Wayshrine instantly, they will need to pay gold to do so, and this can only be done a certain number of times.
