The larger screens on phones and tablets make watching videos a more pleasurable experience than watching on a tiny smartwatch screen. However, many users still want the option of catching up on their favorite vlog or watching an episode of their favorite show on their Apple Watch without taking out their phone or tablet. The new third-party app will help users with that in the absence of an official app from Google.

Called 'WatchTube,' the new third-party app allows users to watch YouTube videos on the Apple Watch and is available on the App Store. It is compatible with an Apple Watch running watchOS 6 or later and an iPhone running iOS 13 or later. The free app, which comes from developer Hugo Mason, allows users to not only play YouTube videos but also access a wide range of YouTube features. These include liking videos, subscribing to channels, using closed captions, searching and surfing through suggested videos and history.
