Apple is preparing to update its smartwatch lineup with the launch of Apple Watch Series 8, which is expected to hit the market later this year. Just like the iPhone 14 leaks and rumours, the Apple Watch Series 8 is also surrounded by a number of rumours. Now, leaks suggest that Apple is planning to introduce a new smartwatch. This will be a rugged version of the Apple Watch for professionals, which is expected to launch along with the standard Watch Series 8 and the affordable Apple Watch SE.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has provided some idea about the Apple Watch Series 8. In his latest newsletter, Power On, he has suggested the price the upcoming Apple Watch Pro Rugged Edition will retail for. The shocking part is that it is tipped to be priced somewhere around $999! This is the same as the iPhone 13 Pro price. Yes you read it right! The next most highly specced version of the Apple Watch Series 8, expected to be dubbed the Apple Watch Series 8 Pro, is tipped to cost as much as iPhone 13 Pro.
Not just price, but Apple Watch Pro version is likely to get a bigger display too. According to the previous reports, Apple Watch rugged version is expected to feature a massive 2-inch display along with the casing that should be 46-47mm. How big will it be? Reports suggest that a 1.99-inch Apple Watch display size in comparison to the current 1.901-inches (45mm) display size of the Apple Watch Series 7 will offer almost an increase of 5 percent.
However, this is expected to be a shatter-proof display and offer a screen resolution of 410 x 502 pixels. And ofcourse, it will be running on the latest watchOS 9 operating system, that Apple introduced during WWDC event 2022, packed with new upgrades and features.
