A new enemy was just revealed for Elden Ring's upcoming DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, and it has an... interesting design, to say the least. Just revealed on social media, the new enemy unmistakably resembles a uterus, and fans can't get enough of it.
We've only got this brief look at the enemy to go by right now, and we don't even know what they're called, but that hasn't stopped fans from bigging up the design in the replies. The fact that it looks like a uterus only has fans more excited, as they're here for the bizarreness of it all.
As you can see, there's a whole lot going on in this design. So, it comes as little surprise that longtime FromSoftware fans are already trying to decipher what it all means and speculate on what other games have influenced the look. And while fans go back and forth on this, there are those who immediately highlight that the creature's feet are on full display. Because of course that's what gets noticed before anything else.
On the whole, fans are incredibly pleased with this design, only adding to the Shadow of the Erdree hype. This has been growing for months now, as fans have been patiently waiting for DLC since Elden Ring first launched in 2022.
These fans don't have long to wait now, with Shadow of the Erdtree finally set to launch on June 21. As we get closer to launch, FromSoft has been a bit more forthcoming with details, shedding some light on the expansion.
For starters, it will have multiple endings, albeit not as many in the base game's story. Speaking of, the base game won't have an impact on the events of Shadow of the Erdtree, so you won't get a different experience than anyone else based on what you got up to before the DLC drops.
And yes, Shadow of the Erdtree also adds another poison swamp. I'm sorry. In revealing this, director Hidetaka Miyazaki admits that he "really likes" creating these swamps. He hides it well.
