Elden Ring boss encounters typically have a cutscene that plays before the fight begins. This is used to introduce the enemy and give them an opportunity to expand their lore through dialogue. Many of these cutscenes are extremely memorable for players and can make the ensuing fight even more epic. These scenes are one of the few ways that the story is told in Elden Ring.
Gideon Ofnir is a special character in Elden Ring. He is an NPC character that helps inform the player about the different bosses throughout the Lands Between. He is a Tarnished, just like the player, and hopes to one day become the Elden Lord. As players progress through the game and move towards the end, they will find Gideon Ofnir standing in their way. In one of the final boss encounters of the game players will have to defeat Gideon Ofnir, the All-Knowing. In this fight Gideon Ofnir has access to the spells of other bosses players have defeated along the way. This means that he can make use of Malenia's Scarlet Aeonia or Rykard's Rancour if they have already defeated those enemies.

In a video posted to Reddit, an Elden Ring player named EchoFist shows themselves dominating Gideon Ofnir before he even has a chance to fight back. The player rushes in and begins wailing on the boss, using the Stormcaller Ash of War to continually damage and stun the enemy. In under 30 seconds the fight is over and EchoFist is victorious, not taking any damage for the entire fight.
