A new trailer for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny premiered today, and it looks pretty impressive. The trailer provides the best look at the story so far and includes some dramatic action scenes.
Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) is preparing for retirement, but his god-daughter Helena (Phoebe Waller-Bridge) comes to visit and has other plans in mind. She tells him about a mysterious and highly sought-after dial--the Dial of Destiny--and the pair embark upon an action-packed journey to keep it safe from villains including Jürgen Voller (Mads Mikkelsen). Here's the trailer:
In addition to Ford, Waller-Bridge, and Mikkelsen, The Dial of Destiny stars Antonio Banderas, John Rhys-Davies, Shaunette Renee Wilson, Thomas Kretschmann, Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook, Oliver Richters, and Ethan Isidore. The movie is directed by James Mangold (Walk the Line, Logan).
The Dial of Destiny also includes scenes from back in time, and Lucasfilm used advanced, AI-powered de-aging software to make Ford look young again.
Steven Spielberg directed the four previous Indiana Jones films and planned to be behind the camera for The Dial of Destiny, too, but it didn't work out and Mangold came aboard. Spielberg isn't gone entirely, though, as he is an executive producer on The Dial of Destiny alongside George Lucas, who created the series. Iconic composer John Williams returns to compose the score for The Dial of Destiny, which releases in theaters on June 30.
In other Lucasfilm news, the company announcedthree more Star Wars movies during Star Wars Celebration today, one of which will star Daisy Ridley returning as Rey.
