The file size for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has seemingly been reduced ahead of the game's launch next week.
In February, it was reported that Tears of the Kingdom would have a file size of 18.2GB, making it the biggest Nintendo Switch game of all time made by Nintendo. However, according to the updated store page for the game, the title will now be only 16GB.

The new file size will still make Tears of the Kingdom the biggest Switch game from Nintendo, compared to Breath of the Wild--the current largest--which sits at 14.4GB. There are also several far bigger games from third-party companies.
It's not a massive change, so players will still need to be prepared to install such a big game on their Switch, but it's nowhere near the size as other titles for other platforms; like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which required 155GB of free space on PC.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is set to launch on May 12 for Nintendo Switch. Preorders for Tears of the Kingdom are available, with standard editions costing $70. A $130 Collector's Edition is also available.
In GameSpot's Tears of the Kingdom preview, Steve Watts said, "...while Nintendo is still maintaining the mystery around much of the game, our extensive hands-on with the new tools showed an incredible amount of creative problem-solving and thrilling traversal in this ambitious sequel."
