Elden Ring May Be Getting New Content Soon, Judging From Recent Behind-the-Scenes Updates

Elden Ring may be about to get some new content, judging from some recent behind-the-scenes activity on Steam.

As reported on Steam Database, some of the game's private branches have seen some activity in the past two weeks or so, suggesting developer FromSoftware is actively working on testing some sort of update for the game. As Elden Ring hasn't been updated in a while with anything other than a few balance tweaks, which did not require the extensive testing that seems to be taking place, there's a very good chance the game is about to get some new content soon. Additionally, the Colosseum update was launched around this time last year, so some sort of update may be going live next week when the Shadow of the Erdtree is seemingly getting shown during this year's The Game Awards show.

While shadowdropping the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, possibly during The Game Awards, would be an extremely welcome surprise, it is extremely unlikely. FromSoftware parent company commented on the expansion earlier this month, saying that while development is proceeding smoothly, there was no update on its release window.
