Tales of Kenzera: ZAU from Surgent Studios under the EA Originals labels has supposedly leaked ahead of an official announcement.
The leaked information comes from credible French deals leaker 'billbil-kun', who posted the leak on French deals website Dealabs.com. Tales of Kenzera: ZAU is said to be a 2.5D horizontal scrolling adventure platform game in the same vein as the Trine series, and is likely to be officially unveiled by EA and Surgent Studios during this week's The Game Awards 2023. According to the leak, the game will feature a young protagonist wearing two necklaces who would be endowed with magical powers. As also revealed by the leaker, the images that he has seen have led him to believe that the necklaces would allow the protagonist to alternate between two types of magic (blue and orange).
As revealed by 'billbil-kun', Tales of Kenzera: ZAU is planned to be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series on April 23, 2024. Currently, it's unknown if EA and the developer are also planning to bring the game to the Nintendo Switch and past-gen consoles. The platform adventure is said to be priced at 7.99 euros / 17.99 US dollars / 16.19 pounds sterling on PC.
Surgent Studios is a transmedia studio from actor Abubakar Salim (known for his roles in House of the Dragon, Raised by Wolves, Bayek in Siwa in Assassin's Creed) bringing games, film, and more. Initially, the studio was named "Silver Rain Games". As mentioned on the studio's LinkedIn page earlier this year, the team's upcoming project is indeed an original game with EA Originals. This is also mentioned on the studio's official website. The website doesn't make any direct mention of Tales of Kenzera: ZAU just yet.
