EA has announced that it will be restructuring its workforce. According to the announcement on the company’s website as part of a letter to staff, the restructuring will affect 6% of EA’s workforce, which roughly amounts to over 750 jobs.
“As we drive greater focus across our portfolio, we are moving away from projects that do not contribute to our strategy, reviewing our real estate footprint, and restructuring some of our teams,” said CEO Andrew Wilson in the letter to employees. “These decisions are expected to impact approximately six percent of our company’s workforce.”
According to Wilson, the company hopes to transition as many of the affected employees as it can on to other roles in the company. Those who are let go, however, have been promised severance pay, as well as benefits like health care and career transition services.
“Communicating these decisions began earlier this quarter,” Wilson noted, “and we expect them to continue through early next fiscal year.”
