E3 is comfortably six feet under at this point, but that doesn’t mean we’ll be bereft of video game shenanigans this summer. Host Geoff Keighley has announced that his Summer Game Fest event will return on Friday, 7th June at 5PM PT/5PM ET/10PM BST. It’ll be broadcast live from the YouTube Theatre in glitzy Los Angeles.
Writing on Twitter, Keighley promised that “thousands of in-person fans” will join “millions online” as the cross-platform showcase reveals “what’s next for video games”. Presumably, the likes of PlayStation will have their own separate livestreams, but Sony tends to throw Summer Game Fest a bone where possible, so that’s something to keep an eye out for.
If you’re planning to attend by the way, tickets will go on sale from Tuesday, 7th May, so that might be something worth marking on your calendar. In the meantime, what are you hoping to get out of this year’s Summer Game Fest? Share some of your dream announcements in the comments section below.

@LifeGirl It must be an ego thing. Presumably, he relishes being the «face» of video games. And it works for the industry as a whole because he bends over backwards for corporate interests. He suddenly spoke out about all the industry losses today, weird to hear no comment from the face of games...but he had to so he could start promoting this. Box ticking exercise.
He's awful at it, absolutely no sauce. He should keep the event going and farm out presenting duties. But without a mass revolt
