Diablo 4 Patch Adds Uber Unique Crafting, Requires Dismantling Other Uber Uniques

Diablo 4’s latest patch offers more improvements for Season of the Construct and the Lunar Awakening event, but that’s not the focus. Instead, it adds the option to craft Uber Uniques, allowing players another avenue for obtaining the drops they want. Or so you would think.

Crafting Uber Uniques requires Resplendent Sparks from salvaging other Uber Uniques (five in total). If you didn’t have enough left over (probably because of limited stash tabs), that means farming Uber Duriel, an issue fans have voiced since Season of the Blood. The current patch does increase the drop chance of Uber Uniques in the world by an unknown amount.

However, those who want to take advantage of Uber Unique crafting would target the best source rather than hoping for random drops. When crafting an Uber Unique, its affixes won’t be displayed. It’s perhaps to encourage repeated crafts as players chase the perfect roll for their Uber Unique of choice.

Developer’s Note: Uber Unique items are highly sought after. With Season of Blood, we introduced target-farming Uber Unique Items with Uber Duriel to gives players another source of acquiring this type of item. However, we want to give players increased autonomy in obtaining their desired Uber Unique by addressing feedback that expressed how acquiring duplicate or undesired Uber Unique Items lessens that feeling of triumph.

A new system empowers players to make use of duplicate and undesired Uber Unique items by salvaging them for a new resource which can be used to eventually craft an Uber Unique of their choosing. Additionally, the chance for Uber Unique Items to drop everywhere but in Uber Duriel encounters has been increased.
