Arrowhead Game Studios has released a new patch for Helldivers 2, fixing crashes from replicating ragdoll momentum and destruction. It also resolved an issue blocking Quickplay matchmaking on PC (PS5 players may still be unable to use it) and tuned the difficulty of Civilian Extract missions.
Improvements to platform authentication allow for avoiding a black screen at startup, and the client should also see better backend performance with improved communication. An automatic retry system is also in place for Quickplay, seemingly if it fails, so you don’t have to keep mashing the button.
Studio CEO Johan Pilestedt also revealed on Twitter that the patch preps for “increased server load.” Hopefully, it should improve some of the more egregious issues. There are still pending issues, such as login rate limiting if too many players sign in at once, rewards and other progress not registering or getting delayed, but they’re currently being worked on.
