Bungie and Netease Games have partnered up for Destiny: Rising, a mobile phone based shooter that will be playable in third and first person. To avoid issues with the years of lore that has been built up through Destiny and Destiny 2, Destiny: Rising will be set in an alternate timeline. There will be a Destiny Rising closed alpha taking place as well from November 1st, though it will be limited to North America.
The alternate timeline is based in a time way before the setting familiar to those who have played the main Destiny Games, with it being set before the Last City has been built. Players will take control of various characters from a roster that will keep growing, but they will not be based on the classes of Hunter, Titan, and Warlock. Instead these characters will have their own abilities. Some of the characters players will get to use include Ikora Rey, Iron Lord Jolder, and Kabr. The main protagonist will be a character called Wolf that players will be able to customise.
The closed alpha for Destiny: Rising will contain both PvE and PvP. PvE modes will include campaign missions, free roam exploration, Haven Ops Strike missions, and raid-like Gauntlet Ops. There are also new modes which are Morgran’s Prey, Legacy, and Realms of the IX, which will be detailed when the closed alpha is launched. The PvP mode will have a Destiny: Rising exclusive mode called Shifting Gates, though again details released later. The recommended specs and devices include:
