On Thursday, Independent mobile game studio Marauder Tech Games launched the open alpha for its first title, Price of Glory. The competitive turn-based strategy game allows players to win cash prizes as they lead their armies to victory.
Set in a fantasy world of constant conflict, Price of Glory sees players building an army from a diverse roster of units from multiple factions. Players can also recruit generals boasting unique abilities to encourage different playstyles. The players then lead their forces to destroy the enemy stronghold while protecting their own. However, they must be cautious and consider how best to use their limited resources.
Marauder Tech describes Price of Glory as “play how you want, when you want,” and it features a variety of gameplay modes. Skirmish mode drops players into low-stakes matches, while more serious players can join tournaments of four players or more. Players can choose between Salt and Cash tournaments, which reward winners with in-game and real-world money, respectively. Players can also join a Dynasty to unlock additional rewards.
That covers the “how you want,” but what about the ‘when you want?” By default, Price of Glory gives players 24 hours to make their moves, encouraging casual play. However, players can opt into the game’s Blitz mode, which features a 5-minute turn limit.
The Price of Glory open alpha is available now from Googe Play and the App Store in North America and Oceana. Marauder Tech Games plans to launch the alpha in other regions but hasn’t offered a clear timeline yet.
