For me, learning the jump trajectory for Nikki's little climb was the most fiddly part of the gameplay to master. The mantle will only trigger if you hit the top edge of the surface onto which you're trying to jump, so it can be hard to know where to launch from. The jump guide lets you see where you'll land and turns green if you're in the right spot for the auto-mantle to trigger.
The high jump is different from the float jump. Instead of double tapping the jump key, which is the Space Bar on PC, you only hit it once but then hold it down as you jump.
