Bungie is investigating why some Xbox players are having trouble signing in to Destiny 2: Lightfall. While it’s unclear if Bungie's fully resolved the problem, the developer's customer support team has recommended a workaround to let Xbox users enjoy Destiny 2's new Season of Defiance content.
Bungie released Destiny 2: Lightfall earlier today. As part of the Season of Defiance, it continues the ongoing Light and Darkness storyline featured in previous updates. Destiny 2's Season of the Seraph concluded with the Traveler backed into a corner as it and humanity's enemies crowd around, and Lightfall begins the next chapter with the arrival of the Witness and his ominous Black Fleet. However, Neptune's secretive city of Neomuna and its mysterious Veil may hold the secret to humanity's survival.
Destiny 2 Season of Defiance Has The Witness and Calus Invading Earth
Destiny 2 fans were very excited to jump into this latest chapter of the game's ongoing story. But, unfortunately, that's proving unexpectedly difficult for many Xbox Series S and Xbox series X users. While the game was down for maintenance early this morning, Bungie announced over Twitter that it was investigating a problem preventing Xbox users from signing in. It is still unclear whether developers fixed the problem even several hours later. Still, the Destiny 2 developer says users can sign in to the game after manually downloading the update and restarting the game.
Bungie walked players through the process of updating Destiny 2 in a pair of follow-up tweets. To make sure they're able to sign in, Destiny 2 players on Xbox Series X/S should access «My Games and Apps» from the Xbox Dashboard, then select the options for «Manage» followed by «Updates.» Players
