Of the many aliens in the Green Lantern Corps, one stands out of the crowd as the strangest being ever to wear a Power Ring — if it is even capable of accomplishing such a feat. Hal Jordan, John Stewart and Kyle Rayner may be the most well-known lanterns among the DC readership — but they are only human and the DC Universe is vast, encompassing billions of planets with billions of sentient species. One such individual is designated Dkrtzy RRR: the only Green Lantern who also happens to be a living math equation.
Before the Green Lantern franchise expanded into the Space Police genre, it centered around one man. Alan Scott acquired a magical ring originating from ancient China (the Golden Age of Comics scene in America was fraught with mystical 'foreign' [read: Asian] objects as a source of phenomenal power) and used it to become the Green Lantern — but as he had no knowledge of the larger Green Lantern Corps, Alan Scott acted alone. With the switch to Hal Jordan as the main character in the Silver Age, the universe expanded, and Hal realized he was just one small part of a larger force that policed the galaxy (and in some tellings, the entire universe).

Some of the more famous alien Green Lantern members include the birdlike Tomar-Re, Kilowag (who trains all neophyte Lanterns), and Rot Lop Fan, a Green Lantern who lived underground on his homeworld and has never evolved eyes (and thus has no concept of colors or even light; he became the first F-Sharp Bell and creates constructs out of sound waves).
