An unfortunate disconnect has made it seem like Green Lantern has no respect for Aquaman. Hal Jordan evidently learned of the Justice League's death twice, making it seem like the Lantern wasn't paying attention to Jackson Hyde.
Fans have known about the Justice League's imminent demise for months, as they were transported to another dimension to stop Pariah. The once noble figure had become a servant of the Great Darkness, the malignant force dead-set on destroying all of creation. Justice League #75 saw the heroes valiantly fight against Pariah, only for the villain to put the Justice League to death. The only hero to escape the calamity was Black Adam, who lived on to inform the world of the bad news that the bravest heroes in the DC Universe were, in fact, dead.

The shocking news spread throughout the hero community, but not everyone was immediately up to pace. Dark Crisis #1 by Joshua Williamson and Daniel Sampere shows the world reacting to the Justice League's death, particularly every cult with a doomsday wish. As Wally West and Jon Kent keep up the their good work as Flash and Superman, they're aided taking down Kobra by the Green Lantern Hal Jordan, who has just returned from deep space. Jordan demands to know where the Justice League is, only to be told Black Adam's account, which the Lantern does not want to accept. But a week before Dark Crisis #1 was published,Justice League: The Road to Dark Crisis #1 led into the event, and it featured a story with Hal Jordan.
