Vancouver Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau is a noted wrestling enthusiast, so it only makes sense that noted zoo enthusiast and WWE superstar Kevin Owens surprised him at the 2022 NHL Draft. Owens hasn't been able to wrestle recently due to a minor injury and was held off of the recent Money In The Bank premium live event card. And Boudreau is one of the most accomplished bench bosses in recent memory.
The NHL draft took place on July 7 and 8 in Montreal, home to the NHL's Canadiens. Boudreau, who swooped in and salvaged the Canucks season as a mid-campaign hire in 2021-22, was doing an interview on the NHL Network when Owens swung by the booth. It was apparently a surprise to Bruce, who seemed legitimately flustered upon meeting the WWE star.

"I was sitting in a box up there and I figured that I'd come down and say hi," Owens beamed as Boudreau stammered. Bruce is on record saying that Kevin Owens is his favorite modern wrestler, and he almost immediately went into fan mode upon meeting him. He asked KO when he was going to be back, to which Owens said "a couple of weeks, I think." Boudreau then keenly pointed out that the superstar can "still talk" while claiming that he's the "best talker" that WWE has going. Genuinely heartwarming stuff from @NHLNetwork. Especially since it appears that the surprise was set up by the NHL Network as the draft itself snaked into the 160s.
Excitement so pure
