Datamine Reveals New Content Coming To Helldivers 2 (Stratagems, New Faction & More)
A datamine of seemingly confirms that developer Arrowhead is already planning on giving players some new tools to help defend Super Earth. Now that the game's serves have finally stabilized after a massive surge in popularity, dedicated fans are looking to the future, hoping to catch a glimpse of what could be added to the experience in future updates. Fortunately, based on the unearthed information, there's plenty to be excited about.
Per a post by u/stodal on Reddit (via ), several interesting details were revealed. In terms of new Stratagems, a file named «DropoffCombatWalker» suggests that Helldivers will soon be able to call down their very own mech suit to make battling the Automatons and Terminids much easier. Aside from the mech, the file titled «DropoffLav» has some speculating that vehicles may be the next major addition to the game although if that's the case, they may be reserved for some of the larger maps.
The datamine doesn't simply reveal new Stratagems, though; it also hints that a new faction known as the Illuminate will eventually take up arms against Super Earth. Returning from the original, the Illuminate have several enemy types, including the Adept, the Ghoul, and perhaps most worrying, the Illusionist, who can use an ability listed as Force Choke. This isn't the first hint of the Illuminate in . Fans recently spotted an in-game news scroll that suggests that the faction is quietly spreading among the stars, sparking speculation that they'll be added in a future update.
Given how has risen the ranks to be one of the most popular games of 2024 so far, Arrowhead has struggled in the weeks since its launch to accommodate the number of players trying to access the game. The developer has already pushed out several updates in an effort to increase server capacity and eliminate waiting times.
