A new fan poster for Obi-Wan Kenobi has hit the web showing Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen) mourning Padme Amidala (Natalie Portman). The upcoming series will catch up with Ewan McGregor’s titular Jedi ten years after the events of Revenge of the Sith. The Disney+ series is scheduled to drop on May 25.
One of the most exciting reveals about Obi-Wan Kenobi was the announcement that Darth Vader would play a significant part in the overarching story. Moreover, the series will see Hayden Christensen return to the role for the first time and see him share the screen with McGregor’s Obi-Wan for the first time since 2005. Though the initial plan was reportedly for Darth Maul to play a villainous role in Obi-Wan Kenobi, rumors have surfaced suggesting that the creatives behind the scenes opted to bring back Christensen as Vader and allow for a “rematch” between the former master and apprentice. Beyond that, however, very little is known about how Vader will factor into the plot of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
