A new detail revealed in the latest chapter of the Star Warssaga explains why Obi-Wan Kenobinot only had to live on Tatooine after the Empire rose to power, but why he had to remain a hermit on the sand planet for so many years. During the Clone Wars, certain Jedi Knights became celebrities as they traveled from system to system stopping the Separatists' droid army and saving a number of civilizations. Given Obi-Wan’s status, there was no other option for him besides life in total exile once civilization as he knew it came crumbling down.
