CD Projekt Red has rolled out Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.0 across PC, PlayStation, Xbox Series X|S, and the developer has now also shared the full patch notes, including some PS5/XSX-specific changes.
The free new 2.0 update for CDPR's hit title comes with NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 support, offering even more advanced visuals. The 2.0 update, however, isn't merely a graphical update, it overhauls numerous gameplay mechanics and core game features, including Perk Trees and the police system. In addition, the update offers plenty of fixes as well as improvements. In the official patch notes that the developers have shared, the team mentions that those using mods on PC are advised to uninstall pre-2.0 mods until the community has updated them for use with the 2.0 update. "Because changes to crucial game systems are extensive, we strongly recommend uninstalling pre-2.0 mods until the modding community has a chance to update them", CDPR writes. "Outdated mods can disrupt the experience in many ways and, in some situations, may cause critical errors."
As said, the new update introduces a new Police system that allows the NPCD to choose players when a crime is committed, either on foot or in a vehicle. Also, the police will now be present in the world, actively patrolling the streets of Night City. Officers working at crime scenes will now also engage in pursuits. We highly suggest reading the full patch notes on the official Cyberpunk 2077 website here. Interesting to note is that the update also includes a change to the target upscaling resolution on Xbox Series X and PS5. After installing the 2.0 update, the game's Performance Mode now targets dynamic 1800p instead of dynamic 4K for improve performance and image quality.
