When installing implants in after Update 2.0, players will find themselves restricted by Cyberware Capacity. It’s a newly introduced mechanic that limits how much Cyberware V can install in their body, forcing them to be much more selective about installing implants. However, there are ways to increase the Cyberware Capacity limit or even bypass it entirely.
The game’s Cyberware systems received a rework as part of Update 2.0, so each piece of Cyberware now takes up part of V’s Cyberware Capacity. It effectively stops players from plugging tech into every Cyberware slot in V’s body at once, creating a sense of steady progression towards high-quality implants. However, you’ll need to push the limit higher by unlocking Perks, leveling up and using Shards.
Perks are the best way to increase Cyberware Capacity quickly, but you’ll need to assign Points into V’s Technical Ability attribute.
Renaissance Punk unlocks at Technical Ability 9, and provides +4 Cyberware Capacity for each of V’s attributes that’s at 9 or higher. It’s a modest boost overall, but it’s highly recommended that you unlock it regardless of what build you’re planning to use. Even if you’re not using advanced Cyberware such as the Sandevistan, or specializing in Arm Cyberware, some extra Cyberware Capacity gives you room to install low-cost implants, including special Optics and extra Armor.
Armor is particularly important in Update 2.0, asmost clothing items are now purely cosmetic and Cyberware contributes the most to V’s Armor rating.
At Technical Ability 20, V can also unlock the new Edgerunner Perk. Edgerunner allows V to follow in the footsteps of David Martinez by pushing their Cyberware past its limits, exceeding Cyberware Capacity by up to 50
